With more and more Podcast episodes being released by Podcast publishers and authors, the market for the Podcasts and the enthusiastic listeners are growing at a steady rate. The hand-held devices are improving now-a-days ands the geeks love apps that gratify their craving for pod casts. Android-another domineer in the mobile OS market, the Podcast enthusiasts are leaning towards this because of the jamboree of application available for this type. Among the carnival of android apps for podcasting let me list down a few of the Pod catchers that help podcasting lovers using android.
Beyond Podcast manager:
Beyond Podcast manager is an outstanding app for Podcast. The app is built with excellent quality. The features are admirable with Podcast search and automatic updates of newer versions of Podcast episodes. Even though the app appears to be pricy with a price tag of $7, this charmed me because of its search feature that actually works with lesser working time.
Intelligent controls, Bluetooth headset control, space to accommodate both audio and video Podcasts and last but not the least the app is available not only for Pods but for tablets as well. The Beyond Podcast manager seems to be power-packed with features but the UI and user experience were more satisfying and easy to a layman like me.
Pocket casts:
Pocket casts is another feature rich app that functions as your Podcatcher. The amazing fact of Pocket casts app is that it is packed with features that almost all users’ desire. The way this app finds new Podcasts releases is rather unique. Pocket casts has it own server to check for latest release of Podcasts. This gives an edge in speed search when compared to other Podcast managers available. The UI is quite impressive with small tabs. The app is more than a want to buy because it is cheaper than the other paid versions available in the market. You can grab it from the app store for just $3.
DoggCatcher:
Unlike its unruly name the app is quite worthy of spending a dime. The DoggCatcher Podcast manager is listed in the pricey list of $5. But the associated feature the app holds is another story. There may be similarities with its rival BeyondPod but few specs make DC stand out. The notable few were user friendly UI, speed playback and the most useful is remembering the last play list position feature. This won the adulation of most absent minded Podcast followers like me.
Podkicker:
Podkicker is another kid on the android block. This stands out due to its simplicity. The line streaming ability saves much of your money instead of downloading. Podkicker is compatible with both audio and video Podcasts. The neat UI scores with the layman users added to the relief. For beginners adding new Podcasts is really easavorite episodes. These are some of the mind-blowing features but these come with the price of $3.
A cast:
A cast is another powerful app in the Podcatcher legion. A cast steals the show by providing a free to try option. The interface will not make you frustrated with this app as they are quite neat and clean. But the ads that pop up during your navigation are the only hindrance. The app downloads new Podcast releases automatically. Added to the benefit of a pocket-conscious user we can schedule the download of latest Podcasts. The fully controllable playback speed sure does wonders. To prevent yourself stuck up with ads, pay up 4$ dollsrs (a reasonable fee) to enjoy undeterred Podcast entertainment (remove ads)
Stitcher Radio:
The app is completely different. To make the best use of the app one needs to have a live internet connection. The app is memory conscious so no downloading formalities. The use of app offline will not be productive as you will not have the Podcasts saved.
The discovery of new Podcasts on the go makes this app handy for most users and the most appreciable part is that the app is available for free. Addition of radio stations and other live audio shows is easy.
